Papa made me give me back my centerpiece and summer entertainment honestly, I'm surprised he didn't make me write an apology note for the stern act he put on. I thought he would be pleased... and so I've had to rethink many of my summer plans.

It would be nice if, perhaps, we could have pictures of them at St. Patrick's Cathedral. Though, given current law and the fact that I doubt my son would ask Harvey to marry him as a female, I doubt that will happen. This is going to be a somewhat unconventional event, obviously. It would behoove us to work together as the, shall we say 'elders' of the situation, to make sure that we produce an event appropriate to the standards of our respective families.

It has been suggested of late that perhaps Ive been in a poorer mood than usual. I believe Mark described me as 'snappish', and I'm quite sure I 'snapped' at him for having the nerve to suggest it. But... perhaps he was right. It makes sense when I think about it closely, even if I don't wish to. America has no weakness, and to admit that something real and true actually bothers me seems wrong. But I can feel it.
There's so much oil, and there is a large, large part of me that it's hurting.

I'm considering taking Eros to the Hamptons. The cage is going to make a lovely garden centerpiece. I wasn't going to keep him, but... well, I've changed my mind.
